Exodus was founded in 2015 by JP Richardson and Daniel Castagnoli, and the company, Exodus Movement, Inc., is based in Omaha, Nebraska. It made its name with a desktop wallet that looked better than anything else in crypto, then added mobile, a browser extension and syncing between them, and it now supports hundreds of assets across dozens of networks. In 2024 it became one of the few wallet companies that is publicly traded, listing on NYSE American under the ticker EXOD, which means its financials are audited and filed with the SEC. It is non-custodial: your 12-word phrase controls the coins.
The buy button is a set of partners. A card, Apple Pay or bank purchase inside Exodus is processed by MoonPay, by Ramp Network, or by XO Ramp, Exodus's own checkout, which was renamed from XO Pay in May 2026 and is available in the United States and Puerto Rico with a debit card or Apple Pay. Exodus's knowledge base is clear that a MoonPay purchase carries three charges: a MoonPay fee, an Exodus ecosystem fee and the network fee. In-app swaps run through XO Swap with a spread. Exodus and MoonPay have also announced a fully reserved U.S. dollar stablecoin with M0, planned for 2026.
Anytime Capital is a U.S. money services business that sells to customers worldwide, with a storefront on Piedmont Road in Atlanta, an office in Miami's One Biscayne Tower, a phone number that reaches a person, and nine ways to pay, including cash and same-day wire. It also gives customers a free non-custodial wallet, so the comparison is not wallet versus no wallet; it is which company you want on the other end when you are buying.
